Bioblitz London is a dedicated team of volunteers and nature nerds. We organize nature walks and species-spotting events throughout the city to celebrate and document the incredible variety of life in our unique green spaces. We use the iNaturalist app to support environmental groups across London, Ontario who use the data!
What is a Bioblitz?
A bioblitz is a community-powered event where people come together to find and identify as many species as possible in a specific area, over a short period of time. Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or just curious about the world around you, bioblitzes are a fun and engaging way to explore local biodiversity.
Why iNaturalist?
We use iNaturalist to record observations during our bioblitzes. This free, easy-to-use app allows anyone to upload photos of plants, animals, fungi, and other organisms. Each observation contributes to a global database used by scientists, conservationists, and educators to better understand and protect biodiversity.
