How to Use
Whether on your own or on a group nature walk, you will need to know how to use
iNaturalist to participate in the bioblitzes.
iNaturalist is a free platform—both a website and app—to record observations of plants, animals and fungi in nature to contribute to a global dataset of biodiversity information used for both science and conservation. Making observations is as simple as exploring, being curious, and taking photos of organisms (or evidence of those organisms, like tracks, nests, shells, or skulls.)
iNaturalist will suggest possible identifications, and then when you upload those observations, the iNaturalist community works together to refine and confirm the identifications.
The invaluable network of everyday people turned citizen scientists continues to build as we explore every corner of our country.

Basic Steps
1) Join iNaturalist by creating an account, username and password!
2) Download the app or visit the website.
3) Make quality observations and record sound or multi-view photos of animals, plants, fungi or tracks through the app or on your phone/camera.
4) Share your observations on the app or website - they will automatically be added to the London City Nature Challenge or Bioblitz projects if they are in the London-area. Choose the most likely species ID from the suggestions listed.
5) If you are knowledgeable, go back and confirm your own or other's findings!
